Children's Classics - Picture Books

This weeks Children's Classics post is focussed on picture books. My four-year-old son's favorite classic picture book would have to be Dr. Seuss' ABC book.

He has other favorites that are not considered classics (yet). Two of his favorites are:

No, David! by David Shannon

The Adventures of the Taxi Dog by Debra Barracca

He likes No, David! because of all of the silly troubles that David gets into, and he can relate to being told "no." He will actually sit and "read" it by himself and chuckle.

The Adventures of the Taxi Dog
is always mistakenly called "Maxi the Taxi Dog" in our house. My son loves how this book rhymes, and since he loves cars and dogs it's a hit. Plus it's just fun to say the words "Maxi" and "taxi" together!

I'm focusing on Suess classics today as well. They are still so charming and loveable. Informative too! We're with you on great classics today.

I enjoyed your post!
